Postdoctoral Position at CUNY City College of New York
We are inviting applications for a US NSF Sponsored Postdoctoral Position in Urban Boundary-layer dynamics. The research will investigate the influence of urbanization on convective cloud processes. The successful applicant will participate in the field campaign based in Houston, TX, during the US Department of Energy’s Tracking Aerosol Convection Interactions Experiment (TRACER) https://www.arm.gov/research/campaigns/amf2021tracer.
All applicants must have a Ph.D. in either Mechanical/Civil/Environmental Engineering or Atmospheric Science/Meteorology. We will prioritize applicants who have previously conducted/participated in large-scale atmospheric field studies. The applicants must have advanced programming skills, and any experience with weather/climate modeling will be a plus. The work requires travel to Houston in Summer 2022 (June/July/August) to assist the field campaign; during other periods, the candidate will work in New York City. The position is available starting October 2021; the initial appointment will be for one year with a good possibility of an extension for an additional year.
